Investigation into IT shared services for education in Portsmouth

The University of Portsmouth and their partners have been awarded funding by the Higher Education Funding Council (HEFCE) to investigate and develop good practice for shared IT services across education providers in Portsmouth. This blog will track our journey throughout our project, hopefully providing a helpful resource to others in the Higher Education sector on the opportunity presented by the new legislative provisions for Cost Sharing Groups.

A quick update on the Westover Primary pilot

The Westover Primary pilot has now finished and has been a great success, the school loved Google Apps for Education and have now purchased their first set of Chromebooks and a charging trolley. We will publish more information shortly.

We visited the BETT show this year and bumped into Paul Farrell from C-Learning.

They have been helping our with some loan Chromebooks and training for our School pilots.

We also had a chat with our Google contact Adam Stewart.

And saw a nice stat which seems to backup what we are finding with Schools in our area!
